ABOUT ALEX UDDIN
I believe great investing is built not only on analytical precision, but also on trust, judgment and the ability to understand people as much as markets.I’m an Economics & Finance graduate from the University of Aberdeen, currently studying towards CFA Level 1, with a strong interest in wealth management, investment strategy and global markets. Through academic, investment and operational experience, I have developed a foundation across portfolio analysis, investment research, stakeholder engagement and client-focused problem-solving. My experiences have allowed me to combine data-driven decision-making with clear communication, adaptability and relationship building.During my time as Chairman of the Aberdeen University Investments & Trading Club, I led a student-managed multi-asset portfolio while overseeing research and investment discussions across APAC, EMEA and the Americas. Alongside portfolio management and macroeconomic analysis, I focused heavily on governance, reporting and collaborative leadership, helping strengthen both the analytical discipline and wider team culture of the organisation. I also represented the university across international finance and economic conferences, helping contribute to a more globally connected and outward-looking investment community. My dissertation explored the performance and volatility of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) across Asia-Pacific markets between 2015–2025, combining academic research with a more industry-oriented perspective through engagement with ETF professionals, market practitioners and broader investment themes shaping modern portfolio management. The dissertation was recognised as one of the top submissions within my cohort and reinforced my long-term interest in asset allocation, wealth management and international investment strategy.Beyond finance, experiences across consulting, operational and client-facing environments have shaped how I approach both people and problem-solving. Working with SMEs, charitable organisations and international stakeholders strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, remain composed under pressure and adapt to different personalities, cultures and situations. These experiences reinforced the importance of professionalism, empathy and trust when building long-term relationships.Today, I am motivated by the opportunity to build a long-term career within wealth management and investment strategy, helping clients and institutions navigate complex markets through thoughtful analysis, global perspective and relationship-driven advisory.
