ABOUT ALEX LAWRENCE
As a structural engineer and advocate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), I bring in-depth consultancy and sector knowledge to my role as Social Value Director. Most recently, I spent 5 years as Head of EDI in the UK. I have over 20 years\' experience in the structural design of buildings, from commercial and residential projects through to healthcare and education, with several award-winning projects. I am a great collaborator and use my enthusiasm for our industry to engage and encourage the next generation of engineers to reach their full potential. In 2019, I was a finalist for Inclusive Companies ‘Head of Diversity & Inclusion’ award and a finalist for Buildings ‘Female Leadership’ award. I won the Women in Construction Engineering award for ‘Best Female Mentor’.
