ABOUT ALAN HAY
Experienced software developer with over 20 years commercial development experience (15 as a contractor) across a wide range of sectors. During this time I have primarily worked as a Java developer – on both back-end and front-end – however in one recent role I worked primarily with Python for 2 years.For back-end Java development I have worked almost exclusively on a Spring and Hibernate platform, from early versions of Spring and Hibernate through to their most recent iterations. On the front-end I have worked on the development of Java web applications from the early days of user interfaces rendered on the server using raw Servlets through to the more modern approach of restful APIs and client-rendered interfaces and everything in between: basic JSPs, request-based frameworks such as Struts and Spring MVC enhanced with client-side Javascript and component-based frameworks such as JSF and Tapestry.
