ABOUT ANTHONY M. KING
Anthony King is an educator and has worked to directly serve students of public schools. He began his formal teaching practice as a third-grade teacher in Missouri and while there was great success in such a short time, he felt that he could have a larger impact on student achievement. With this desire to increase student achievement he entered school administration and served as an assistant principal first and then a building principal. Anthony obtained his doctorate degree in Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. During his time as a student Anthony focused on the nexus of adult development theories, executive coaching, and effective K-12 teaching. He prototyped a professional development model that uses frameworks that seek to help individuals recognize their own blind spots. This model is rooted in utilizing executive coaching to help educators enhance their abilities and the abilities of their colleagues all with the goal of increasing student achievement. As a Founding Partner of First Water Consultants, he currently helps organizations advance their organizational development needs. Additionally, Anthony provides executive coaching to leaders that want to continue to develop their leadership skills. Philosophy:I believe the success of a school system is measured by the implementation of a well-balanced instructional system that meets the educational needs of all students. Students at all levels of development need to experience educational success through quality programs that challenge their ability and in return develop life-long learning skills. A balanced program must take into consideration the economical demands placed on school systems and members of the school community. Financial accountability through creative thinking and problem-solving must be a priority for all school administrators.
