ABOUT ALISON J. QUARTARO

Over the last fifteen years, I have worked as a grants specialist with comprehensive experience developing and implementing international health and nutrition programs in a range of humanitarian and development contexts. Over the last five years, my annual portfolio value has ranged from 12-25 million USD and includes a spectrum of government, corporate and private donors, including GAC, USAID, DFID, Global Fund, Total Petroleum, and Slaight Family Foundation. During this time, I successfully led the proposal process for over 50 million USD in new revenue. I have experience providing leadership throughout the grant lifecycle, from building relationships with potential donors, developing responsive and compliant projects, ensuring strong monitoring and reporting throughout the project, to facilitating lessons learned workshops and building of local partner capacity for activity handover. In my last field position, I was Grant Manager for Action Contre la Faim-Myanmar during the Rohingya Genocide as we provided life-saving nutritional support for vulnerable women and children in a rapidly changing, highly challenging context. I developed a responsive grant acquisition and amendment strategy to allow maximum flexibility of funding, maintained communication with donors and external stakeholders, and contributed to organization-wide mobilization of resources to support and protect local staff and beneficiaries. My strong track record is supported by professional accreditation as a Foundation-level Proposal Management Professional and pending certification as a PMI Project Management professional as well as extensive sector-specific, organizational and donor-based training.I have experience planning, implementing and evaluating global programs that provide the highest level of care for those in greatest need. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the value that I can bring to your organization.
