ABOUT AJ STANGL

I build healthcare data systems that work under real-world conditions: connecting fragmented patient records, moving data between systems that were never designed to talk to each other, and making sure the right people have the right information at the right time.As Technical Lead and FHIR SME at CRISP Shared Services, a health information exchange serving 14 states, I lead CDA-to-FHIR R4 transformation work, HL7 v2 validation engine development, and large-scale interoperability initiatives spanning TEFCA, IHE XDS/XCA, and US Core 6.1 conformance. I know why most large-scale implementation projects fail, and I\'ve built the transformation pipelines, validation harnesses, and test-driven workflows to prevent it.On the AI and machine learning side, I\'ve been building agentic systems from the ground up: multi-agent orchestration with tool-calling loops, Semantic Kernel integration, agent handoff patterns, RAG pipelines over FHIR Implementation Guides, and production AI assistants deployed on Azure with real observability. My personal R&D project is a multi-agent AI platform featuring self-diagnostic capabilities, where the system can read its own source code, inspect its own telemetry, and file its own bug reports.I ship systems that others abandon, integrate AI into production workflows, debug problems nobody else wants to open, and keep the whole thing running when it matters most.Prior to software engineering, I earned a Professional Science Master\'s in Cell and Molecular Biology with a thesis in Protien Micrro Array-mediated target identification, then spent several years in cancer genomics and bioinformatics building analytical pipelines for variant detection in DNA and RNA.Core stack.NET/C#, Python, TypeScript/React, Kotlin/Android, SQL, Azure (App Service, AI Foundry, Cognitive Search, App Insights), FHIR R4, HL7 v2, C-CDA, TEFCA, IHE XDS/XCA
