ABOUT AHMED ZIDAN
Research activities focus on: 1) 3D printing of oral and transdermal dosage forms.2) Design and evaluation of transdermal and oral solid formulations. 3) Formulation and processing design of complex drug delivery systems.4) Understanding quality and manufacturing processes of drug products through Quality by Design (QbD) approach and Process Analytical Technologies (PAT). 5) Advancing manufacturing science of complex drug products, with focus on continuous manufacturing of solid dosage forms. 6) Development of in vitro release performance tests for traditional and complex drug delivery systems (tablets, capsules, TDS, ointments, creams, etc.).7) Development of IVIVC models and BE evaluation of complex drug dosage forms. Other area of intense research interest include: Abuse deterrent formulations (ADF); diffusion of models of small molecules through artificial and biological membranes; mechanistic modeling; study of polymeric materials in formulation design; and risk assessment and mitigation strategies of oral and transdermal dosage forms.
