As a Partner for IBM Payment Center and the Chief Business Development Officer for Expertus, Abdulah focuses on the evolution and modernization of the Wires and SWIFT Financial Messaging in the banking industry. He enabled Financial Institutions and Corporates modernize, innovate and adopt new technologies and disciplines.Through thought leadership and payments industry expertise, he empowered Expertus, an IBM company, position itself as a pioneer in Cloud solutions for financial services and accelerate digital transformation while complying with regulations and financial policies. The enterprise strategy he developed set the blueprint for the development of the Expertus Payment Service (EPS) platform, a cloud native, business-value oriented, payments as a service platform designed to simplify modernization programs. Abdulah’s methodology is founded on addressing pain-points and delivering quick-wins while building for the future. This “made for change” approach stimulates innovation and ROI without sacrificing long term flexibility and adaptability to address future needs.In his role, Abdulah established himself as an SME in all aspect of domestic and international, banking and corporate payments along with business and product strategy. He developed deep expertise in Wire payments, SWIFT messaging, SWIFTgpi, ISO20022, market infrastructures modernization programs, regulatory requirements, technological enablement and, most importantly, delivering business value to customers. As the leader for strategic initiatives, Abdulah has developed key strategic partnerships such as the IBM Payments Centre Canada, a strategic investment that IBM Canada made in May 2018 to proactively address the needs of payments modernization needs of its clients in Canada. Since its inception the IBM team has grown to 350+ of Payments Professional and is already onboarding clients on its signature IPCC “Payment as a service” Platform. This relationship has led to the acquisition of Expertus by IBM in December of 2020.
