ABOUT ADITYA S

I am a social work graduate in Rural Development specialisation from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Tuljapur), currently pursuing an MA in Development Studies at IIT Guwahati. During my internship, I gained experience in diverse fields like disaster management, child rights and protection, local governance, women and child development, and rural development. I have developed skills in engaging with communities and working towards social problems. Fieldwork and internships helped me understand and address the diverse challenges faced by rural communities, from sanitation and health to economic development. I could enrich my abilities and skills by engaging with rural communities, government officials and other members of the village. MA Development Studies has helped me better understand development aspects from a multi-disciplinary approach. I would like to apply my knowledge and skills to the development sector by analysing the socio-economic and political aspects. I am equipped with research methodologies (Qualitative & Quantitative), Basic programming (Python, SPSS, Stata), and grassroots-level survey tools like Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), enabling a multidimensional approach to social issues. I also possess a good understanding of working with MS Excel and Kobo Collect. Also, as a multilingual communicator (Malayalam, English, Tamil, Hindi), I would be able to bridge the gaps between diverse community groups and policymakers. My experiences engaging with communities and diverse fields have helped me improve my interpersonal skills, equip myself to adapt to various environments and complete the assigned tasks with dedication. I am open to field-based interventions and opportunities that would help me contribute to addressing social issues by engaging with communities.
