Lead regional sustainability vision, strategy and plans designed to build brand reputation while managing costs, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance across EMEA. Lead EMEA Sustainabiltiy SteerCo and working teams to develop and implement programs to achieve regional and global goals. Work closely with cross-functional teams across head office, retail, food service and business partners/licensees to share lessons learned and best practices. Devise resource reduction strategies (energy, water and waste) by building business cases and engaging key stakeholders/business partners to achieve regional and global Starbucks responsibility goals. Manage highly dependent cross-functional teams to ideate, launch and implement programmes to drive the sustainability agenda, including for e.g, reusable/cup-share programs at retail, partnerships to mitigate food waste, development of alternative packaging to address plastic-free mandates, opening of greener stores. etc. Manage annual budget planning for sustainability and social impact. Recommend investments required while managing day-to-day budgets to ensure projects come in on-budget and executed on a timely basis. Leverage outsourced solutions and third party contracts to meet program objectives. Partner with legal and finance to manage third-party contract agreement terms and conditions. Serve as key liaison to Starbucks Global Sustainability Team. Represent region in key stakeholder presentations regarding strategy, program progression, best practices, regional marketplace intel, etc. Provide leadership and subject matter expertise relating to energy efficiency, water efficiency and waste and recycling practices both internally to partners and to external bodies/groups including industry partners, government and media. Partner with EMEA Public Affairs in managing media relations related to sustainability and social impact for the region.
