ABOUT ADAM J COOPER
Technical Specialist within Amentum’s Scientific Testing & Experimentation performance area. Provides technical leadership and delivery of a variety of complex mechanical performance and evaluation experimental testing programmes, to assess the fracture toughness of structural materials for nuclear plant. A track record in the proposal, development, and technical leadership of industry-driven R&D and consultancy materials testing programmes to provide new data, mechanistic understanding, and mechanical performance evaluations of nuclear structural materials and testing methodologies (>£10M). A Chartered Engineer, Chartered Scientist, Fellow of the Institute of Materials and author of ~30 publications in leading peer reviewed academic journals.An interest in tackling the challenges associated with regulatory acceptance and deployment of new nuclear reactors. Linked to this is a passion to develop materials testing methodology to ensure the currently accepted techniques and standards are appropriate for high performance materials and manufacturing technologies.
