Assist in security related operations such as key control, count, shakedowns, searches, inventory, equipment maintenance, radios, and security systems. Duties include supervision of staff and offenders, maintain order and security of offenders in the facility. Maintained security in the tunnel system to prevent escapes. Lock Shop duties include maintenance of keys and key systems including management software, cutting new keys, emergency key systems, cell door locks and padlock including pinning cores, electronic doors and locking systems including computer software. SERT (special emergency response team) 2008 – 2014Specializing in entry tactics, building assaults, high security transports, hostage rescue, and precision weapons (Remington 700 sniper rifle). Other weapons include M-4, Glock 17, and MP5. Firearms Instructor, 2010 – 2014Duties include training line staff in the use of the Remington 870, AR-15, Glock 17 and 26, chemical agents and weapons retention. Correctional Police Officer 2011 – CurrentDuties include arresting offenders, staff and civilians committing a felony or misdemeanor while on state property or who has a verified outstanding felony or misdemeanor warrant while on state property.Conducting searches and seizures in accordance with Indiana law.Transporting High Risk offenders to include arrest and detaining anyone who interferes with or jeopardizes the security of the transport.Arrest anyone who attempts to escape or acts as an accomplice in the attempt of an escape of a convicted felon from a DOC facility.
