I am starting my journey as Assistant Professor of Physics at Illinois College. Physics for me is not only equations and experiments, it is also curiosity, surprise, and sometimes a little bit of fun confusion before the “aha!” moment.At Illinois College, I teach and learn together with students. I like to make classes interactive, connect physics with daily life, and encourage students to ask bold questions (even the “silly” ones are welcome). My background is in optics and photonics, especially nonlinear fiber optics, but I enjoy exploring any area of physics where students show interest.I believe education works best when it feels human. That means mentoring, laughing, sometimes (or mostly!) struggling, and always celebrating small victories in learning. My goal is to prepare students not only for careers in science and technology, but also to become creative problem-solvers in any path they choose.

Let there be light!\" lo\' and behold we have the LASER! Among so many of its amazing applications, isn\'t it absolutely fascinating that we can communicate at the speed of light? Even after flying thousands of miles away from my home in Bangladesh, I can see my mom over the phone every day! I love simulating optoelectronic components and how light propagates through them, carrying messages for our loved ones. I try to generate shorter and higher-speed laser pulses. After all, who doesn\'t want a faster internet connection? I often wonder, what if we replaced all our electronic devices with something more \'light?\' Could we have better and faster photonic devices? As a small step toward that future, our research group is designing all-optical digital logic gates and encryption/decryption circuits, using Quantum Dot Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers. So, not only we can connect you to your loved ones at the speed of light, but also make your communication secure! 🤗 Curiosity not only killed the cat but it also has the potential to drive humans insane when it\'s not met. It is infectious! Hence, in my spare time, I love to share the latest, as well as not-so-latest, awesome, findings of science with everyone through my science edutainment podcast,\'AChicShow.\' Why should everyone have to read research papers to know what\'s going on in quantum realms and rotating black holes, right? During your spare time, if you would like to talk about kriya yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and spirituality, or just ponder about existence in general, you can count on me as well!
