As an undergraduate researcher in the LOR3 Lab, I’m contributing to projects focused on improving cardiopulmonary support devices. I’ve been designing and fabricating a heart-lung block stand in SolidWorks to support cross-circulation testing, improving organ visibility and reducing blood loss during experiments. I’m also developing a cost-effective spectrum pump casing for a wearable ECMO system. In addition, I assisted in collecting hemolysis data for six different pump models, helping analyze flow, pressure, and hemoglobin levels in Excel to compare the performance of lab-made and clinical-grade devices.
