Instant Payment is a regulatory goal to update the payments landscape. It will involve the restructuring of the UK payments architecture, which will replace the complexity of the running BACS payments, Cheque and Credit and the Faster Payments services. This will create a single Retail scheme for single and bulk push payment methods, which also allowing the third parties to access the infrastructure and be hosted on the cloud.
