The Science Based Targets Network is a civil society and science-led initiative founded in 2019 by a group of global NGOs who have come together to help collectively define what is necessary for companies and cities to do “enough” to stay within Earth’s limits and meet society’s needs.SBTN is developing science-based targets for nature for both companies and cities, so they can comprehensively address their environmental impacts across biodiversity, land, freshwater, and ocean health. This work builds upon the climate-focused targets provided by SBTN’s sister initiative, SBTi. I support SBTN by raising its global profile and engaging companies, partners, and other stakeholders through targeted outreach and impactful content.

ABOUT ABBY LITCHFIELD
Strategist, People-Person, Creative-Thinker, Tree-Hugger, and Musician.For as long as I can remember, my mission has been positive impact. Currently, that\'s landed me at the Science-Based Targets Network (SBTN). SBTN is developing science-based targets for nature for both companies and cities, so they can comprehensively address their environmental impacts across biodiversity, land, freshwater and ocean health. This work builds upon the climate-focused targets provided by SBTN’s sister initiative, SBTi.As Communications Officer, I help SBTN convey the importance, relevance, and impact of setting corporate science-based targets for nature, so companies can contribute to global efforts to halt and reverse nature loss.In other words, I impersonate the Lorax;) Outside my work at SBTN, I\'m also a musician — a singer/songwriter, pianist, and recording artist. I\'ve been performing music for over 15 years, and releasing music for the last 4. Now, I\'ve begun to weave my music and sustainability work together, especially by writing music inspired by the collective and difficult emotions surrounding climate change. I often perform my climate-inspired music at sustainability events and conferences - helping audiences reconnect with their purpose, passion and emotion (often through a few tears). I am currently working on recording and releasing an EP, titled Solastalgia, comprised of my original sustainability themed songs.
