ABOUT AARON CORTEZ

After graduating PT school, I completed a year long orthopedic residency at Agile Physical Therapy. This rigorous program quickly sharpened my manual therapy, exercise prescription and clinical reasoning skills with an advanced didactic curriculum and high quality mentoring. From there, I went on to earn my OCS and currently work as a full time outpatient orthopedic physical therapist. I value working with a diverse and wide range of patients- from post surgical care, to lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, osteoarthritis, sacroiliac joint dysfunctions and a variety of other musculoskeletal diagnoses. I enjoy treating all ages and walks of life and find I gain tremendous fulfillment from empowering and supporting my patients to reach their physical and functional goals. With my patients, I emphasize the importance of appreciating the human body\'s amazing ability to adapt and change in a positive direction, regardless of age. In my treatments I utilize motivational interviewing, manual therapy, patient education, pain neuroscience education and tailored exercises. My background in Cognitive Neuroscience helped build the foundation of my approach and philosophy that thoughts and beliefs can directly affect physical function and outcomes. Through effective communication and empathy, we can have such a positive and powerful effect on individuals and society as a whole. I am grateful to have the opportunity to do the work I do and stay committed to continuously evolve as a clinician, clinic director and individual.
