Coordinate with developers on a global team to test new features and bugfixes for a multi-component algorithmic trading platform involving FIX protocol messages: o Utilizing Unix commands, such as less, grep, cd, and vi to check logs on Unix boxes to verify functionality of various Algo strategies, in conjunction with entitlements and trade booking. o Testing and signing off on large scale features involving multiple components, multiple configs, and multiple teams to ensure smooth rollout to production. • Expanding and maintaining the sentinel automation framework that utilizes Cucumber, written in Java using IntelliJ to validate each tag in FIX messages which reports failures when a tag is missing, there is an extra tag, or there is a value mismatch o The automation framework runs nightly against the latest builds and gives the ability to copy and paste fix messages from production logs and simulate race conditions that are not possible to test in UAT environment, which reduces manual regression time by at least 1 day for each release. • Regression testing combinations of user actions (amends, suspend, resume, cancel, success/reject) for various types of orders (spot, SCFO, NDF) combined with various scenarios (future start time, multiple fills, etc.) o Documenting test procedures and QA status to assist developers in tracking and understanding bugs. • Utilizing company software such as JIRA, Outlook, Skype, Zoom, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence, Athena Studio, and AIM deployments for version control, gathering test evidence, and team coordination. • Testing from 3rd party APIs, such as Bloomberg, JPMM, FXAll, FXConnect, and Aloe to ensure the components being tested handle the fix messages from various sources correctly. • Training new hires on company software, sentinel automation framework and other knowledge sharing.
