https://zxzhou.github.io/As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Niantic, I lead multiple machine learning science projects on deep learning based text and multimodal classification, mentor junior team members, and provide technical guidance to ensure project success and team development. I have a master\'s degree in statistics from Stanford University and a bachelor\'s degree in mathematics and honor statistics from University of Michigan. I have over six years of hands-on machine learning experience focusing on recommendation system and natural language processing from industry projects. I developed and implemented a backend friends recommendation workflow for Pokemon Go players, which automatically generates millions of personalized recommendations every day. I drove the collaborations with cross-functional teams to launch this product to the customers. Previously, I worked at Amazon Alexa AI and Payment Product teams, where I made Alexa smarter to better understand customer\'s requests through NLP techniques(Granted patent on learning how to rewrite user-specific input for natural language understanding), and built a scalable machine learning based recommendation system to present the right Amazon\'s financial products to the right customers.
