Significant role in the setup of a new aseptic spray drying facility (powder production) as I, along with two colleagues developed the process for this commercial scale spray drying production site - Nova are now building a new multi-million pound site based on our findings• Project management of spray drying programs, liasing with clients on a regular basis, weekly teleconferences, project costing, proposals, writing reports etc• Attending conferences and participating in exhibitions locally & internationally to promote, develop and grow Nova’s manufacturing capabilities• Application of Nova’s novel stabilisation platforms for a range of biologics (proteins, mABs, live viruses’, blood products etc.) • Design and development of novel medical devices relating to Nova\'s stabilisation platforms from early stage design, rapid prototyping to final device • Spray drying application using lab scale, pilot scale spray dryers (Buchi-B290, GEA-Niro SD Micro, PSD1, PSD2, PSD3) for a range of biopharmaceutical products• Formulation development of a range of biologics for use as sterile injectable & oral suspensions (Tangential Flow filtration systems (TFF), Powder blending, buffer systems, stabilisation excipients, microencapsulation etc.)• Powder characterisation of spray dried powder using a range of analytical techniques – Particle size using Malvern Masterizer, Residual moisture content using Karl-Fischer Coulometer, Differential Scanning Calorimetry for Tg (glass transition temperatures), UV-Spectrophotometry for active content determination• Troubleshooting and developing spray drying programs using the world’s first fully validated aseptic spray dryer (pilot scale) at Nova•Re-engineering & optimising existing lab, pilot & commercial spray drying systems to achieve optimum performance efficiency •Experience working with fluid bed drying specialists (Freund-Vector / Glatt) for Nova pharmaceutical products
