ABOUT ZULAYKA RUIZ-NIEVES M.
With an extensive background spanning over ten years in family and youth educational programs, I am currently serving as the Director of Programs at Esperanza. In this role, I oversee diverse programs encompassing Adult Learners/Family Engagement, Community Learning Center, Youth Leadership, Out of School Time Coordination for public schools in the Cleveland area, Post-Secondary initiatives, and Mentoring. My responsibilities extend to utilizing analytics, crafting data collection tools, managing logic models, and ensuring comprehensive reporting. Additionally, I actively contribute to grant writing efforts and seek funding opportunities for program sustainability. In my previous role as the Family Engagement Manager, I spearheaded a high-quality program providing families access to educational workshops, English as a Second Language classes, and connections with community agencies. Within my current capacity, I lend support to institutions by facilitating participant recruitment and organizing data collection logistics for research initiatives. Furthermore, I play a pivotal role in structuring and staffing school programs during and after school hours. My skill set includes proficiency in survey development (pre-and post), program and curriculum design, comprehensive reporting, participant recruitment, event coordination, basic grant writing, budgeting, program logic modeling, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
