Work on project for the generation and differentiation of iPSCs to produce complex 3D skin constructs for disease modeling and drug discovery. Participate in NIH/DOD/FDA ‘human-on-a-chip’ Microphysiological Systems program for pharmaceutical screening. Evaluate different methods to create pigmented, vascularized, innervated 3D skin constructs. Adapt techniques to generate and differentiate iPSCs.• Established reproducible procedures in the lab to construct 3D skins including pigmented, innervated and vascularized ones.• Generated integration-free iPSCs with episomal vectors. • Differentiated iPSCs into mesenchymal stem cells, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, sensory neurons and adipocytes.• Established CRISPR-based procedures for genome-editing and gene activations.• Tested several small molecules on 3D skin constructs.
