About Zofia Cavalli

Zofia Cavalli graduated from North Carolina State University in May 2025, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences with minors in Science Communication, Marine Science, and Biological Sciences. She has received various honors and awards, including the Dean’s List for 12 consecutive semesters and the William R. Poole (FER) Scholarship. She has relevant coursework in conservation, policy, GIS, environmental impact assessment, and communication. Zofia has research experience in topics ranging from water quality to microplastics, reef fish survivorship, and coral ecosystem studies. She has also engaged in coral restoration techniques and practices. Zofia has presented at the North Carolina Marine Debris Symposium and the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium.Zofia has extensive leadership experience in many disciplines. She was selected as a member of the inaugural class of the Buzzard Leadership Development Program. She was elected President of the Marine Science Club after serving as Events Coordinator and Project Manager years prior. She is also a member of the Women in Science and Engineering Village, where she served as the Senior Programming Coordinator and WISE Mentor. She has also been a Peer Leader for the Environmental First Year Program. Zofia also engages in her community as a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity. There, she volunteers her time to serve various organizations on NC State University’s campus and in the larger Raleigh community.Zofia is passionate about the environment and eager to launch her professional career. She wants to fulfill her lifelong goal of being part of the solution while improving conservation efforts.
