ABOUT ZOE LAVENA

I started my career as a software developer, focused on building systems and solving technical challenges. Over time, I found myself more drawn to how teams work together rather than just what we build. That shift led me into engineering management, where I could focus not only on delivery, but on people—how to support their growth, build trust, and create sustainable processes. In my current role as a Software Engineering Manager, I’ve been most energized by leading change whether it’s improving how we plan and deliver, onboarding new team members, or fostering a culture of feedback and collaboration. I’ve also enjoyed connecting with people across the organization, finding shared challenges and helping align our efforts. I’m passionate about building not just teams, but communities—where people feel seen, supported, and excited to contribute My long-term goal is to help shape organizations where engineering excellence is paired with empathy, and where people feel proud of both what they build and how they build it.
