About Zoee Clifton
Hello! I\'m Zoee Clifton, a recent graduate from Georgetown University\'s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. I majored in Culture and Politics with concentrations in foreign policy, international development, and African studies. At Georgetown, my coursework included courses like China\'s Evolving Role in Africa, Women, Peace, and Security, Practicing Diplomacy Abroad, and U.S. Foreign Policy in Africa. In the Spring of 2023, my academic journey led me to Geneva, Switzerland, and Merzouga, Morocco where I studied Global Health and Development. Prior to this, I joined a study trip to Kenya hosted by Georgetown\'s African Studies Program where I expanded my knowledge of the country\'s political landscape. Outside of the classroom, I have supplemented my studies with various professional experiences. Most recently from January 2024 until May 2024, I interned at the White House with the Office of the First Lady. During the summer of 2023, I had the privilege of interning with the US Department of State, Office of East African Affairs. Previously, I interned on Capitol Hill with the House Democracy Partnership, a bipartisan commission dedicated to strengthening global democracy and governance through partnerships with over 20 legislatures worldwide. In addition to this, I have interned with EducationUSA, where I directed a youth leadership program for students across Eurasia, and served as a legislative intern for the Democratic Party of Arkansas.
