About Zoe Rice

My name is Zoe Rice and I am a Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University. I am currently studying European Studies and I hope to obtain a masters somewhere in the field of International Relations, History, and/or Security. I am passionate about European History, with a special regional interest in the Balkan States, as well as a special interest in Post-WWI — Pre-WW2 Germany. I hope to do research someday that focuses on Balkan politics and its influence on major conflicts in the European concert, or I would like to research the cultural emergence in the Weimar Republic that was juxtaposed by the following Nazi regime. Not only am I very interested in historical political interactions, but I am interested in today’s global happenings. I am fascinated by nuclear deterrence and its interactions with global policy and global events so much so that I wrote a Capstone on the current status of the JCPOA, a policy more widely known as the U.S-Iran Nuclear Deal. While the Capstone took up a short portion of my studies, I hope to continue this avenue in a future class. In addition to my academic passions, I also have a great affinity for traveling. I am excited for the future as I not only hope to gain further insight on global politics, but many new stamps in my passport as well. I hope to become a Foreign Service Officer one day and help facilitate proactive discussions that will establish meaningful connections between states.
