ABOUT ZIYNET BOZ
I’m an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, specializing in circular food and packaging systems, food loss and waste reduction, and digital twin technologies. With a background in food engineering and agricultural & biological engineering, I apply systems thinking and advanced modeling tools like life-cycle assessment (LCA), agent-based modeling, and computational fluid dynamics to design sustainable food systems.A key focus of my work is resilience analysis: understanding how food and packaging systems respond to disruptions, adapt to change, and recover from shocks. By integrating resilience thinking with digital twins and circular economy principles, I help stakeholders build robust supply chains that can thrive in the face of climate variability, resource constraints, and market fluctuations. My mission is to transform the food and packaging industries by embedding sustainability, adaptability, and innovation into every layer of the system. I collaborate with industry leaders, academic institutions, and policy makers to drive change and educate the next generation of food systems engineers.Let’s connect to explore collaborative research and consulting opportunities or speaking engagements focused on building smarter, more resilient food systems.
