About Zirra B.
With years of experience in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, I have developed expertise in policy analysis, problem solving, and negotiating for international development and communications, post-conflict reconstruction, economic development, international security, multilateral and interagency diplomacy. I have a passion for development, education, global health, advocacy, democratic empowerment and peacekeeping. In working to promote youth initiatives, education, and opportunities for women, I earned the title of ECOWAS Peace Ambassador, through which I work to develop peaceful, practical solutions to challenges in West Africa. From this, I established the SapelGold Foundation, which works to promote youth development.In 2010, I co-executed a non-profit project, Water for Life Nigeria, funded by 100 Projects for Peace, USA. The project provided safe drinking water to communities of over people in Nigeria. The project grew into an international organization that works to increase accessibility, availability and sanitation of water in Nigeria. I also have a passion for volunteering and I have contributed to projects on education, youth, gender, conflict, religious understanding, infrastructure, water, environment, climate change and disaster risk management issues.In media, I have worked as managing editor for Face2FaceAfrica.com (NY), editor for the SAIS Observer, editor and presenter for hellokpop.com (Seoul, NY, Sydney), radio host on 93.5 Aso FM (Abuja), on air producer for KWAR FM, and TV presenter on WTV8, IA.My insight into and expertise in development communications and knowledge management facilitates policy analysis, economic research, and policy to create a positive impact in international development.
