ABOUT STEFAN SHAO

Growing up in a finance-focused family, I developed a profound interest in trading and finance from a young age. Although my early passion for classical music once inspired dreams of becoming a pianist—an interest that continues to enrich my life—I ultimately chose to pursue finance, a field that truly defines me. My previous experience allowed me to develope expertise in financial analytics, project management, presentation and strategic problem-solving in diverse sectors including government sector, pension fund, retail and non-profit organizations. I have a proven track record of implementing innovative financial processes and tools that enhance efficiency and accuracy, such as developing Excel models for streamlining capital activity processes. Passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex financial challenges, being a part of the fintech automation prjects and crafted algorithmic trading codes that consistently outperforms in the Financial Modeling and Trading Strategy course. Outside the classroom, I maintain an active lifestyle and have a deep appreciation for the arts. I started playing piano at the age of 6 and picked up the violin in high school, now learning from a leading violinist at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. My love for classical music is not just a hobby but a lifelong passion that continues to inspire and motivate me.
