ABOUT ZION JACKSON-AVILA
I am a recent graduate of Morehouse College with a B.A. in Sociology, driven by a deep commitment to community impact, social justice, and culturally rooted innovation. My experiences span across public service, nonprofit leadership, and youth engagement—each reinforcing my passion for building more equitable systems and empowering underrepresented voices.As a Criminal Justice Team Lead and Civic Engagement Change Agent with the Joseph E. Lowery Institute, I led programming focused on education, advocacy, and reform. I also interned with the NYC Department of Probation and NYC Parks & Recreation, where I supported youth development, facilitated group sessions, and organized community-based initiatives.I bring strengths in research (both qualitative and quantitative), program coordination, public speaking, and strategic thinking—combined with a creative lens influenced by my background in community development and cultural storytelling.I’m actively exploring opportunities in social impact, public policy, creative strategy, and youth-focused work.
