ABOUT ZIJUN ZHAO
Zijun is an associate at Latham & Watkins New York office, where she represents financial institutions, corporations and individuals across a variety of sectors in civil litigation, regulatory investigations, and insolvency-related matters. Zijun earned her JD from Duke University School of Law. While in law school, she was a judicial extern for Judge Edward M. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, served as Articles Editor of the Duke Law Journal, and participated in the International Human Rights Clinic. Zijun also holds a law degree from Tsinghua University School of Law, where she served as Senior Editor of Tsinghua China Law Review. As a recipient of Yinghua Scholarship, she studied jurisprudence at Pembroke College, University of Oxford, during 2017-18 academic year. Zijun is interested in public law, jurisprudence and human rights. To better understand different legal and social systems, she has travelled and studied in Japan, Ghana, and Denmark during school breaks. Zijun plays women soccer and enjoys learning foreign languages and improvising in her spare time. Her hometown is Shanghai, China.
