About Ziad A. Sabra
Ziad is a Civil Engineer with 41 years of experience in civil engineering, traffic engineering, ITS, signal systems, traffic operations and safety, transportation planning, signal timing, microsimulation, highway design, light rail operations and safety, road safety audits, project management, and business development. Launching his business in 1993, Ziad has taken on a very aggressive role in business and staff development and has led major projects in the mid-Atlantic region. One of Ziad\'s signature projects includes his role as an ATMS Program Manager, System Designer, System Integration Manager, and a Construction Manager for the City of Baltimore $25M Advanced Transportation Management System Center; a state-of-the-art signal system with ITS integration for CCTV, DMS, network communications, and smart detectors. This project has won multiple ACEC Awards for the City of Baltimore and Sabra & Associates, Inc, a Mead & Hunt company. It was noted by FHWA as a cutting edge and very successful multi-vendor NTCIP-compliant signal system.Since the acquisition of Sabra & Associates, Inc. by Mead & Hunt in August 2019, Ziad\'s role is now focused on nationwide activities for business development, market strategy, client relationship, mentoring staff and expanding the transportation services nationwide. Ziad served on the Mead & Hunt Board of Directors and Governance Committee for 5 years, and Technology and Innovation investments. Ziad was inducted to the WVU Academy of Civil Engineers in 2019.Mead & Hunt is a 1400+ employees leading national consulting firm with local offices in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, and 50 other offices nationwide covering 25+ states. The firm offers a myriad of services ranging from aviation, environmental infrastructure, highways and bridges, multi-modal transportation planning including transit, CEI/CM, water resources, wastewater, traffic engineering and ITS to Food and Beverage MEP, surveying and architecture and building facilities.
