   Since July 2001, I have been Vice President for Planning, Assessment and Information Services at Claflin University, a diverse national liberal arts institution with four schools, select graduate programs and a Center for Professional and Continuing Studies. I am the chief planning, assessment, institutional research and accreditation officer at the university responsible for overall institutional effectiveness of the institution. I also have oversight over information technology and direct the Center for Excellence in Teaching, which coordinates all faculty development activity in conjunction with academic affairs. Further, until 2008, the offices of admissions and enrollment management reported to me. In addition to these areas, I also had responsibility for academic affairs between May and July 2007 as the university was in the process of recruiting a new chief academic officer.
