Jiwei Zhou, Ph.D, is a passionate Computer Vision Scientist currently driving innovation at Heliponix, LLC, where he focuses on applying computer vision and AI to enable next-generation smart gardening solutions. His work helps transform how consumers grow fresh produce at home through intelligent, connected systems.Jiwei earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University, where he spent four years as a research assistant at the Digital Enterprise Center (DEC), deepening his expertise in digital manufacturing and model-based solutions.His research interests span a broad range of cutting-edge fields, including Machine Vision, Large Language Models (LLM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Digital Manufacturing, and Model-Based Definition (MBD).Prior to his academic journey, Jiwei spent eight years at Siemens Industry Software as an Application Engineer. There, he gained extensive experience in PLM and CAD development quality processes, and provided hands-on technical support to Siemens’ GO PLM partner universities.With a unique blend of industry experience and academic research, Jiwei is passionate about advancing the intersection of AI, digital technologies, and everyday consumer products.
