About Zhenya Tapolsky

When I was 4 years old, my grandmother put me in an orphanage, in hopes of providing my sister and me with better lives. Her wish came true. When I was 11 years old, I moved to the United States (I was lucky enough to be adopted along with one of my sisters). Once here, I set a goal for myself to learn the language quickly. And, to graduate from an accredited university. I have achieved both of these goals: I graduated UCSC with a BA in Literature in 4 years. In addition, while attaining my degree, I worked as a tutor and thus I had to be organized, articulate, flexible, and patient. I have a wide selection of interests, ranging from learning about the publishing process to exploring marketing to following weekly blog posts on Yahoo and across various social media accounts. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, correcting grammar and spelling, proofreading and editing short and long manuscripts, reading and writing essays, acting, and traveling, as well as learning new languages (and, let us not forget using social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Yelp, and more). I am looking to gain the skills I need to one day manage my own division (and maybe, one day run my own online-based publishing house).
