About Max Zhaoyi Wang
Max Zhaoyi Wang is a first-year MDes student at Harvard GSD focused on computational design, advanced materials (TPMS/3D-printed ceramics), and real-estate sustainability. She explores high-performance façades and urban-agriculture systems, pairing lab testing and research LCA/MFA with valuation, pro formas/DCF, and risk-sensitivity work to link environmental performance to investment outcomes. As a LEED Green Associate, she aims to move low-carbon, nature-positive prototypes into portfolio-ready assets for ESG-aligned development. Her background in leadership, debate, and business strengthens clear communication and strategic thinking across interdisciplinary teams. Proficient in Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, and Python, she quickly learns new tools and translates complex ideas into precise, compelling visuals. Her aesthetic judgment and meticulous attention to detail ensure that her designs resonate conceptually and visually while meeting technical and financial constraints.

Building the next generation of climate-adaptive urban infrastructure. AerroTerra is a climate-tech venture developing scalable, 3D-printed ceramic façade systems bridging advanced computational design with environmental sustainability. Sole Inventor & R&D: Independently engineered and prototyped a TPMS-based modular ceramic facade. Integrated parametric design with 3D printing to enable high-density urban farming and passive thermal regulation. Intellectual Property: Secured Provisional Patent Pending status for my proprietary hardware interface and assembly logic, establishing a strong technical moat for scalable manufacturing. Commercialization: Single-handedly driving the transition from an academic prototype to a commercial venture. Developed unit economics models targeting a 20% HVAC OpEx reduction, earning a spot as a solo-founder Semifinalist in the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge (PIC). Funding & Partnerships: Independently secured two rounds of university funding for physical prototyping. Currently leading a strategic collaboration with the Harvard Divinity School Garden to deploy the installation and explore sustainable community well-being.
