Supported the development of policy and guidance on protection of civilians (POC) and the dissemination of knowledge of POC in peacekeeping in headquarters and field missions. Supported coordination at headquarters within DPO and with external partners including member states, academia, civil society etc. Developed training materials to aid the understanding of POC among peacekeeping personnel (civilian and uniformed) to help to effectively implement the mandate to protect civilians and enhance organizational knowledge on protection of civilians in peacekeeping. Provided operational support on POC to peacekeeping operations remotely and in the field, including delivery of trainings as well as with reporting to donors. Served as the DPO POC focal point for United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) and United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and provided necessary backstopping support. Also, as gender focal point to ensure gender responsive protection of civilians in line with the WPS agenda. Lead the strategic communications portfolio to address mis/dis/malinformation and hate speech.
