As an Apprentice Project Manager, I oversee the planning, execution and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget. I am currently assigned to three projects, all helping Anglo American achieving our goal of becoming net zero. My day-to-day responsibilities include:Project Planning and Scheduling: Developing Gantt charts to provide a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones and resource allocation. Tracking the project timeline to ensure the project is running smoothly and as planned.Stakeholder management: Serving as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and answering project queries to give confidence to all stakeholders. Risk Management: Creating RAG statuses, RAID Logs and other organisation documents to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining clear and organised project documentation including business cases I have created, budget sheets, important presentations with key information, meeting minutes, and final project documents. Problem-Solving: Addressing and resolving issues or conflicts that arise during project lifecycles. Further tracking and learning from these situations to minimise or avoid similar scenarios in my future interactions.Quality Assurance: Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations. Asking questions and continuously reviewing documents to implement improvements, guaranteeing stakeholder satisfaction.Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement within the projects I work on and within myself. This is in implementing best practices for my self-development and lessons learnt for future project activities.
