As Head of Assurance at the AA, I lead a high-performing team responsible for Compliance Management Monitoring, Privacy Assurance, ISO Audits, Supplier Audits, and Panel Insurer Audits. I specialise in driving strategic assurance frameworks, embedding horizon scanning for emerging risks, and ensuring proactive risk mitigation.Key Responsibilities:*Strategic Assurance & Compliance – Develop and implement a robust assurance framework to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk oversight.*Regulatory Expertise – Strong understanding of FCA regulations, including Consumer Duty, PROD, DISP, SYSC, BCOBS, COBS, and Payment Services Regulations.*Combined Assurance Approach – Align second and third-line functions to enhance risk coverage, audit coherence, and governance effectiveness.*Risk & Conduct Oversight – Embed and monitor key compliance reporting, including Consumer Duty and SMCR, to ensure regulatory expectations are met.*Stakeholder Engagement & SMF Support – Ensure senior leadership and regulated SMFs are equipped with insights and oversight for decision-making and regulatory compliance.* Leadership & Team Development – Lead and develop a high-performing team to enhance risk and compliance culture across the AA.* Horizon Scanning & Emerging Risk Identification – Proactively assess industry trends and regulatory developments to keep the business ahead of risks.*Board & Regulatory Reporting – Deliver strategic insights to executive committees and external regulators, ensuring transparency and accountability.
