About Zebrick Roach
My Philosophy:As an engineering manager, my core philosophy is to equip and empower my team. When the right combination of people’s personal (EQ) and technical skills are coupled with an inspired vision, we can overcome most any design challenge. As a principal mechanical engineer, I’ve specialized in design and development of durable products for consumer and medical industries. I’m a student of the relationship between art and engineering. This has been core to my career successes and will never be far from my heart. As a business leader, there is no more valuable asset than our people. It’s my role to provide clear direction and the necessary support to both communicate and achieve our collective goals. Here’s the kicker: our people are human and should be treated with all respect, even when it’s difficult. That’s leadership. Experience mattersMy background includes class medical device design, wearables, consumer products, durable goods, and consulting. Having worked on projects for Nike, Disney, Starbucks, Alaska Airlines, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Valve, Panasonic Avionics, Intel, Philips and a host of companies less well-known, I\'ve seen a fair bit of diversity and can speak to the challenges of creating something that hasn\'t previously existed. Specialized skillsProduct architecture conceptualization, collaboration with industrial design (ID) & UX/UI design, mentorship, design of electromechanical assemblies and mechanisms, design for and understanding of a vast array of manufacturing methods, system-level thinking, technical presentation, working with over-seas suppliers, user testing design - implementation and evaluation, expert (and still hands-on) CAD user, communication thru visual design, utilization of Rapid Prototyping (RP) techniques to convey ideas or validate a design concept.
