ABOUT ZEBA KHAN
I am a settler and a beneficiary of the colonial system that has dispossessed Indigenous Peoples of their land and resources. I grew up in Bangladesh and immigrated to Canada in 2015 as an international student. Inspired by my long-time mentor and friend Madeline Shaw (co-founder of Aisle, author of The Greater Good), I discovered that I am someone who loves to nurture things. Whether it is my plant collection or a community of humans - I like fostering growth and connections. I never get bored of board games (and silly puns!). Catan fans, please say hi! Besides my role as a research trainee, I run a grassroots non-profit that provides access and education to menstrual health (Free Periods Canada) and sit on the board of Options for Sexual Health. As a person of colour and a visible minority, I use my lived experience to bring a unique perspective to the projects I work on.
