ABOUT ZDRAVKO JOVANOVIC M. F. A

With a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary foundation spanning academia, strategic communications, and public health advocacy, I bring a distinct blend of creative leadership, cultural sensitivity, and analytical insight to every project I lead. My work sits at the intersection of language, media, and community: where story meets structure, and where deep insight shapes strategy.I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Film and BFA in Film and Video Production and Screenwriting from York University, where I explored the power of visual storytelling as a vehicle for critical inquiry and social transformation. My creative foundation in theatre and film remains central to my approach today, whether directing short films, collaborating on immersive performance pieces, or building campaigns with emotional and narrative resonance. I always strive to use stories not simply to entertain, but to provoke reflection, connection, and cultural dialogue.In academia, I have taught at York University University of Belgrade, and various faculties and organizations within the EU and gave lectures on interdisciplinary curricula in media, cinema studies, and French linguistics (I hold a BA in French Studies: Literature and Linguistics, as well).Outside the classroom, I have served as Media Coordinator, Guest Lecturer, and Creative Project Manager across international campaigns and cultural institutions. I coordinated bilingual educational outreach, managed community partnerships, and helped pioneer DIY mobile outreach stations to discreetly distribute prevention materials and offer guidance to at-risk populations, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community.My academic background in linguistics equips me to analyze language, conduct nuanced data analysis, study societal trends and socioeconomic landmarks, and to decode the deeper symbolic and affective structures that guide engagement, perception, and change - particularly why and how certain trends emerge, how they are seeded within culture, amplified by media, and shaped by collective desire or fear. Moreover, I find genuine enjoyment in studying and analyzing trends and in researching the sociocultural, psychological, and semiotic forces that influence public discourse, consumer behaviour, and community sentiment. I am driven by a deep curiosity about what motivates people - what they need, value, and feel - and by a desire to connect messaging to meaning in ways that are contextually grounded, temporally responsive, and culturally resonant.
