About Zouheir Obeid

I am an Electrical and Instrumentation Facilities Engineer at Chevron, currently focused on the I&E construction of new/greenfield upstream facilities in the Permian Basin, a role I transitioned into in January 2024. Previously, I spent two years in a related position, where I was responsible for supporting existing brownfield facilities and well pads. These experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of both maintaining and optimizing existing operations, as well as driving new projects from the ground up.I graduated from the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston in December 2021 and have since built a strong foundation in electrical instrumentation and controls engineering through four internships—two with Chevron and two with Marathon Petroleum. My internships spanned both upstream and downstream facilities, further expanding my technical knowledge across various aspects of the energy sector.During my time at the University of Houston, I also worked as a Physics Teaching Assistant and a Workshop Facilitator for the Scholarship Enrichment Program. I served as Vice Chair for The Energy Coalition, a role that allowed me to contribute to energy education and engage with peers in meaningful dialogue on the future of the industry.
