ABOUT SERGEY KUPLETSKY

I’m a Software Engineering Manager with ~15 years in web engineering and a full-stack background (React, PHP, and Node.js). I’ve led cross-functional teams of up to 10 engineers in both startup environments and larger organizations. My default way of working is to make delivery clear and predictable, keep the team aligned with business outcomes, and continuously remove friction from the development process.Engineering culture and developer experience are not “nice-to-haves” for me — they’re core to how I run teams. I tend to focus on Platform & DevEx — solid CI/CD, automation where it pays off, shared services, reliability, and keeping technical debt under control so delivery stays fast. I stay close to the technical side, advocate for DevOps and DevSecOps practices, and help teams adopt them pragmatically.I also bring a product mindset to engineering: I care not only about how we build, but what we build and why. When needed, I’m comfortable stepping into product ownership tasks to keep direction and priorities clear.In day-to-day work, I try to rely on data rather than opinions. I use metrics for delivery, quality, and operational health to understand what’s happening and what to improve.Ultimately, my goal is to create an environment where engineers can focus on solving real problems, grow professionally, and feel ownership of their work.Outside of work, I mentor aspiring web developers. Since 2021 I’ve been a mentor on the “Web Development” course at Yandex.Praktikum, helping students build solid fundamentals and professional habits.
