ABOUT ZANE SWANSON
I\'m Deputy Director and Fellow for the Global Food and Water Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where I investigate the causes and consequences of food and water insecurity in the United States and globally. I hold a BA in Anthropology from Boston University and received my PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology from Duke University in 2021, where my research focused on the relationships between health, the environment, and lifestyle transitions of pastoralist communities living in rural Kenya. I have specific expertise and passion for work involving global health, food/water security, human biology, life history theory, and human behavioral ecology.
