ABOUT ZANDER COWAN

I am currently a dual MBA, MPA/ID (Master in Public Administration - International Development) candidate at the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School. Previously, I was a Senior Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, with engagement experience across healthcare, life sciences, consumer, and financial services. While at McKinsey, I also completed a 6 month rotation as a Research Fellow within McKinsey\'s economics and business think tank, McKinsey Global Institute, where I focused on firm productivity, competition, and technology. Prior to McKinsey, I was a macro cross-asset derivative strategist for pensions, sovereign wealth funds, and insurance companies within the Global Banking & Markets Division at Goldman Sachs. I graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics (A.B.\'19). While in undergrad, I was also a Dougan Scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a concentration in finance. I am passionately interested in healthcare, scientific and technological innovation, market structure, firm productivity, economic development, and the role of financial institutions and capital markets in society.Outside of school and work, I serve as a strategic advisor to the healthcare non-profit SIRUM. I enjoy working out, running, hiking, volleyball, skiing, being outside, reality TV, drag race, concerts, and classical music.
