ABOUT ZAMIRA GABDYZHAMALOVA

I am a first-year student at the University of Toronto Scarborough with a strong foundation in leadership, marketing, and technology. As President of the Scarborough Campus Resident Council, I lead meetings, coordinate campus-wide events, and advocate for student needs to strengthen residential life. Alongside this, I work as a Marketing Associate with the Associates of Accounting, where I develop promotional content and implement social media strategies to drive engagement and event attendance.My technical background is rooted in hands-on experience with AI/ML and app development through Kode with Klossy, a competitive coding program I was selected for twice. There, I collaborated on projects including a mood-based AI song generator and a circular economy education app, deepening my interest in how technology can solve real-world problems. I have also contributed to cognitive research at the University of Ottawa\'s Cognition and Emotion Laboratory, where I assisted with data collection and lab procedures as one of two students selected for the role.Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about giving back to my community. I have volunteered as an English tutor for a Ukrainian student through ENGin, led after-school programs at Club 310, and supported elderly residents at Perley Health through meal assistance and recreational programming.Looking ahead, I am passionate about the intersection of international affairs, finance, and technology. I am drawn to how global financial systems, emerging technologies such as AI, and cross-border policy decisions shape economies and communities worldwide. I plan to build a career that sits at this intersection, whether in international finance, fintech, or global economic policy, where I can channel my analytical mindset and multicultural experiences toward meaningful impact on a global scale.
