Strategic focus on all aspects of system performance and delivery of national standards- Providing specialist advice to teams on key lines of inquiry in relation to performance standards and a specialist view on reports provided by system constituents- Developing of policy on performance management and improvement- Work with Regional portfolio teams to develop and maintain consistent processes for performance management of key standards- Prepare and quality assure briefings on performance and related matters for directors and a range of internal and external stakeholders - With system leaders, assess and monitor progress against action plans and provide reports to executive and other stakeholders- Interpreting relevant emerging national policy and guidance for implementation within the South East Region and the performance management function- Providing overall management to the whole function- Ensure that best practice is developed and delivered at organisational and departmental levels challenging ways of working and persuading, motivating and influencing other senior managers to realign there practice where necessary- Lead, support and contribute to formal negotiations with senior level internal and external stakeholders, providing a high level of negotiating expertise to secure advantageous arrangements- Developing business plans and provide expert strategic and policy advice and guidance on all areas of the National Director\'s portfolio- Accountable for short, medium and long term strategic business plans achieving quality outcomes- Budgetary responsibility for functions and the services provided within, evaluating value for money for new contracts, monitoring the performance of existing providers and ensuring that provider performance aligns, and comply with contractual terms and conditions- Recruitment and development responsibility for Directorate staff, undertaking appraisals and setting objectives
