Experience
Senior Advanced Electrical Engineer
Jan 2022 — Present · Kansas City, MO, US
Led efforts to create and implement a management operating system (MOS) for nonconformance reports (NCR). Set up a system of data imports, rolled out to the product realization team (PRT) tier meeting. Drove accountability, bringing average days open for NCRs from 114 to 43 for the circuit board, from 87 to 17 for the controller assembly, and from 39 to 15 for the electronics assembly, saving $138.9k. Initiated updates to the X-ray CT scan of circuit boards, increased components verified from 12 to 33 per board, expanded scope of examination, enabled real-time stencil improvements, improved initial verification (IV) first pass yield (FPY) from 72.6% to 97.7% and parts manufactured trouble free (PMTF) from 3.1% to 29.4%, saving $542.7k. Improved secondary packaging and reduced inspection sample size for connector, saving $64.6k in scrap and $12.9k in labor. Resolved inductor cracking issues affecting 10% of product by running trials, creating, and updating documents, negotiating with the design agency (DA), coordinating with advanced manufacturing engineers (AMEs), eliminating the need to inspect, saving $25.4k. Analyzed 108 tests for design for six sigma (DFSS) Green Belt project, performing statistical analysis of capabilities, recommending changes to 6 test IDs for a savings of $41k. Utilized DFSS skills for another department to analyze 1,307 test IDs across six different products, recommending changes to test limits for 42 of them. Analyzed 431 non-conforming reports (NCRs) to assess impact. Saved $142.5k. Worked with integrated supply chain (ISC) to overcome obstacles to ongoing production, resulting in an increase from 10.5 units/month to 18.4 units/month. Set life of program records for sales in May 2023 of 37 printed wire assemblies (PWA) and 20 electronic assemblies (EA). Increased quarterly score for parts manufactured trouble free (PMTF) from 3.1% to 29.4% in six months Created training for presentation skills for new engineers
