ABOUT ZAKARIA ALI

As a final year Human, Social and Political Sciences student at the University of Cambridge, I am passionate about exploring the complex and dynamic interactions between people, institutions and societies. I have developed strong analytical, research and communication skills throughout my academic and early career journey. I am a previous recipient of a full academic Leathersellers’ scholarship, worth up to CAD, at Colfe’s School in London. I successfully completed a vacation scheme at Linklaters LLP, a leading global law firm, in their Derivatives and Structured Products team within the Capital Markets practice. During the scheme, I demonstrated strong attention to detail, teamwork and client relationship management skills, alongside a keen interest in the financial sector. As Head of Archives, for the Cambridge University Majlis 2022-23, I led the curation of an archival exhibition showcasing the society\'s influential role in South Asian politics. This role required me to establish relationships with archival institutions across the UK, synthesising my creativity with my proven track record of meeting stakeholder demands. At present, I am considering roles in Ottawa, Canada within the nonprofit and government sector. I possess pre-authorization for an open work permit and, thus, do not require any employer related immigration sponsorship.
